Dr. Pecen grew-up in Korea and received her Bachelor’s degree in

Pre-Medicine from Korea University. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the same university in 1972. She completed two psychiatric residencies. Her first residency was at Han Yang University Hospital in Seoul, South Korea. From 1975-1978, she completed a second residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She continued her training in the United States by completing two Fellowships. One in Child Psychiatry from the University of Illinois Institute for Juvenile Research, and a second in Neurology from Cook County Hospital.

Dr. Pecen has had extensive experience in mental health clinics, inpatient hospital units, and private mental health facilities. At the present time, she brings her wealth of experience to patients in her private practice.

Dr. Pecen specializes in treating children ages two through adolescence as well as adults with a variety of psychiatric needs. She provides initial consultation, ongoing medication management, family consultations, and coordination with patients’ primary care physicians and pediatricians.
